CoW: Cover of the Week #13

This is definitely my favorite cover of the week. Marvel has a current line of “Art Apreciation” variant covers hitting the shelves. This one spoke to me directly. As a solid and estute lover of mythology, I recognized this painting right away, as I’m sure most of you clashers did as well. This is Julian Totino Tedesco’s reinterpretation of Sandro Botticelli’s the Birth of Venus. Black Widow steps in for the role of Venus and Tony carrying cap in while the two simultaneously replace Zephyr is nice. Thor subs for Venus’ attendant. Sorry Thor. But definitely a great piece. Both of them.
