Courtesy of both IGN.com and Dread Central, whomever was anticipating the long rumored sequel to 28 Weeks Later, "28 Months Later". I'm sorry to report this, but we got some sad news.
Alex Garland, the writer/producer of both the 2004 original "28 Days Later" and it's 2007 sequel, said from a recent interview promoting "Dredd 3D":
"I'm still so proud of 28 Days Later and how well it's been received over the years so I appreciate that. But in regards to another movie, no- there are no plans for a 28 Months Later or whatever they were calling it. This is a series I've always been heavily involved with between the original and the sequel so if there were plans for another movie, I would absolutely know about it."
So, there you go fellow zombie lovers. While he said that at the moment there isn't any plans to continue the series, that doesn't mean that it is dead.
Dredd 3D, the upcoming film revival of the 2000 A.D. comics character Judge Dredd, is out now in the U.K. regions and will be out tomorrow in theaters nationwide.
