Meeting Old Friends: DramaCon

Welcome to another installment of Meeting Old Friends. This time, I'm more than likely introducing some friends as opposed to reminding you of them.
DramaCon is a 3 volume Canadian made Original English Language manga created by Svetlana Chemakova. It chronicles a girl named Christie and her first anime convention and the two subsequent ones. As the title suggests, a whole buttload of drama occurs at these conventions for Christie such as meeting her idol, dealing with bad neighbors in artist alley, and falling in love. Hey, it's a shoujo manga. These things happen.

I love this series. It's hilarious. It's remarkably insightful to how fan conventions, particularly anime conventions, can and often times seem to play out. The characters are very enjoyable and it makes for a pretty solid read. There are some "sly" references to some of the more famous anime out there. I just enjoy the series as a whole. If you want to read something short but sweet, this will do ya a solid.
