LEGENDS OF
POWER
#48 : From Deep Within The Shadows
This week’s Legend of Power comes from Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue as we get the introduction of the very first ranger that was an all American Creation, the Titanium Ranger.
Ryan’s arrival has been said to be very reminiscent of the original evil Green Ranger’s first appearance back in the first season. The Lightspeed Rescue Rangers are back with personal and the scientist Ms. Fairweather … Rawlings cause she married Joel. Anyway, She had developed the new Titanium Morpher, which was too powerful for Carter. Yet, after Ryan sneaks into the Aquabase & steals the morpher … fairly easily I might add … he, who has never had any morphing energy intake, gets to morph into the Titanium … with EASE.
And boy, does Ryan go through the Lightspeed team like they were pins in a bowling alley … and he was the ball. Carter, Dana and the others all fall to the might of the Titanium Ranger . .. only to force him back with their then new V-Lancers. They almost KILL him when Captain Mitchell, after looking at Ryan’s eyes within the now open front helmet, ordered the rangers to stop; immediately knowing it was his son. After revealing that to the Lightspeed team, we get a cliff hanger.

Why is this on the countdown? Cause Ryan is a bad
ass. His creation, character and suit, are all American made. The Tomahawk-gun
combo was indeed inventive. His fighting style was SICK! The fact that the
rangers nearly kill Ryan in their second battle gave them some great cred as
heroes as well as the abilities of their new V-Lancers.
Why is it 48? First … Ryan go into Aquabase ENTIRELY TOO EASILY! Seriously, he comes up from being submerged. No alarms. No Guards. And he knows the password with ease. You can give me the excuse of Magic … but wouldn’t have the sensors been ready for mystical entrances considering the team’s been fighting demons for a while now?
And … God … Vypra … just … I wish someone else was Vypra. She did not get better till the Time Force/Lightspeed team up. But for the most part, she was terrible. And finally, Them blasting him should have had … I don’t know .. . more visual damage than just opening his helmet … which he could have done anyway without being blasted by the Rangers. Yeah …not very convincing of really beating him much.
Still, it was a strong debut for Ryan. The reason why I am not counting the episodes with it as the “Titanium Ranger saga”? Cause in all honesty … there is no real connection. This did not feel like a multi-parter. And while this picks up next episode … I did not feel like a to be continued kind of deal. Hence … why it is by itself.
And This is the Legend of Power for this Week. Till then, May the Power Protect you.
