Metal Gear Rising : Revengeance Review

Metal Gear Rising : Revengeance and yes revengeance is a real word. When we first played MGS4 Guns of the Patriots we saw a new Raiden that was a cyborg ninja. And many wanted to play as Raiden after seeing him in action. For many years Kojima Productions tried to make a game with
Cyborg Ninja Raiden. This form of the game was to be produced solely by Kojima Productions. However, the team met with difficulties in developing a game based on swordplay, so the franchise director Hideo Kojima cancelled it. A solution was found, in late 2011, with Platinum Games taking over development. In 2009 under the title of Metal Gear Solid: Rising, and was intended to act as an interquel between the events of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. An other idea was a game about Gray Fox that would of had the features of Metal Gear
Rising. With the history of the game out of the way time for the review.

The story: It's been 4 years since MGS4 and the world has changed. The Patriots have been destroyed
and the war economy is no more.  With the elimination of the Patriot-controlled nanomachine technology used to regulate soldiers' abilities, PMCs turn to advanced cyborg technology, creating durable superhuman soldiers. Raiden now works for the PMC Maverick Securities. Raiden is supported by his Maverick colleagues, Russian pointman Boris Popov, military advisor Kevin Washington, computer specialist Courtney Collins, and cybernetics expert Wilhelm "Doktor" Voight.
After Desperado kills Prime Minister N'Mani and Jetstream Sam cut off half of Raiden's arm and damages one of his eyes. Now Raiden is out for revenge and vengeance on  N'Mani's killers. The story told is very good and rises questions. Also Raiden's story is full of twists, turns, and boss fights.
There plan is to make war a business again and harvest brains. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRamB30E9mU

Also listen to the codec for story details on each level. I for one want a 2nd game in this series.

The Gameplay: This new Metal Gear is action oriented, focusing on sword fighting and a sophisticated cutting system to fight and defeat enemies. Although Raiden's main weapon is his high-frequency blade, Raiden can wield blades such as a dagger or a rocket launcher. And use of boss weapons after you beat them. There's "L'Étranger" a whip and rod like weapon. "Dystopia" a sai that's enhanced via magnetic fields. Two high-frequency machetes known as "Bloodlust." And a
Murasama blade modified into an HF blade.

The Music: Jamie Christopherson does a great job with the music for the game, rock and metal fits the feel of the game.

Final thoughts: Metal Gear Rising : Revengeance is a great action game that still has that Metal Gear
fell to it. It took me 10 hours to beat the game. Also buy this game so we can get a 2nd game in this style.
