Comics News: Bluewater to Release Upcoming Bio Comics

Bluewater is releasing images of some upcoming biography comic books from their Female Force, Political Power and Tribute lines.

Female Force: Farrah Abraham – The Backdoor Teen Mom
writer: Alan Smithee
Artist: Vincent Monet
Mother at 17, reality star by 18, sec tapes at 19…Farrah Abraham has opened up the back door and joined the celebrity pantheon of such luminaries as Octomom, Jon and Kate and Juan Pablos Galavis. This former Omaha, Nebraska cheerleader is a true female force as she ascends up the ladder as a multi-media impresario and pornography juggernaut

Tribute: Charles Nelson Reilly
writer: Alan Smithee
Artist: Vincent Monet
The center square is featured in the new biography series featuring icons of the yesteryear.
The glasses, The laugh, the scarf…who could forget the star turn as the evil magician Hoodoo in Sid and Marty Kroft’s Lidsville or his pithy, half-inebriated quips as the dean of the gameshow Match Game. Charles Nelson Reilly knew no rivals. From the Great White Way to Hollywood Boulevard,  CNR was more than a consummate professional, more than a survivor, more than an opera buff, he was the bar all Fantasy Island guest stars strive to achieve.
Political Power: Rob Ford
writer: Alan Smithee
Artist: Vincent Monet
When compared to other politicians, at least you know what you get with Toronto Mayor Rob Ford…a loud, brash, crass, stoned, drunk, clownish, deluded chief executive of a major metropolitan North American city. Recently making headlines with his drug and alcohol-fueled escapades, Ford has consolidated his political clout into an international joke. But somehow through it all; through the lies, diversions , obfuscations and really ugly ties, is a gentle, thoughtful man who truly believes Canada, and in particular the beautiful city of Toronto, are a bunch of idiots who just might vote him into office again.

Comic News: Paula Deen Cooks Up Female Force Comic On September 18th

Header
Out this Wednesday, Bluewater Productions releases the addition of Paula Deen to their popular line of Female Force comic books. With the recent media hailstorm and public criticism aimed at celebrity chef Paula Deen for inflammatory racial remarks, Bluewater Productions announced that it will not change plans to publish its Female Force biography comic book title featuring the embattled TV personality.

Written by Michael Troy with art by Manuel Diaz, Paula Deen has an interesting life with many ups and downs and Bluewater is happy to bring her tale to life in comic book form.

“Under the greatest scrutiny, many of our heroes let us down, but we also believe in the power of redemption,” Davis added, “In all biographies there are chapters full of great accomplishments and those full of challenges. I believe Ms. Deen’s story is not yet completely written.”

The book, which has been in production for several months prior to the recent negative revelations, does not look to reward or disparage Deen, but frame her story as an entrepreneur who transformed a home-based catering service into a culinary empire.

Female Force: Paula Deen” writer Michael Troy said, “Paula Deen is still an inspirational woman who has suffered much adversity in her life and overcome many obstacles. Her story is fascinating and it's easy to see why Bluewater would consider her for their Female Force line of biography comic books that on powerful women.”

Davis notes that the latest controversy will be added to the final draft, but the majority of the comic book will focus on how she became an iconic brand, the challenges of her humble beginnings and the results of bursting certain stereotypes.

"Paula Deen after overcoming severe depression has become one of the most famous chefs in the United States, demonstrating the importance of willpower and determination. For me has been very interesting to draw the life of this woman, who has been embroiled by controversy in recent months." said writer Manuel Díaz.

You can download these titles on iTunes, Kindle, Nook, ComiXology, DriveThru Comics, Google Play, My Digital Comics, OverDrive, Iverse, Wowio, Kobo & wherever eBooks are sold.
