New Crusaders Return to Print This September

New Crusaders Are Coming For YOU!

With the success of the Archie comics' Red Circle super hero revival online, the comic book company has decided to bring the characters back to print. Heavily influenced by fan demand and the success of the blockbuster "Avengers" film, the New Crusaders: Rise of the Heroes has been said that it will have something for everyone; not just for kids.

"What you'll see in the prints comics is, one of the neat things about the character The Web is that he understands people's connections," Archie President Mike Pellerito added. "We're using that as a great story device to figure out connections in history and everything else. And part of the editorial content of the first issue will feature those Web powers and how these strands tie together.

The New Crusaders will focus on the children of the original Crusaders from the Red Circle line of books. Pellerito promises while the stories that came before in the old Red Circle line of comics do count, the books will be excessable; giving summaries or even parts of the old Red Circle stories in order to make sure readers have all the information they need.

Leading these new group of heroes is one of the only surviving original heroes, The Shield, who was the first patriotic hero in the United States. Pellerito stated in an interview with Newsrama how important everything in the past was and that these comics will respect the past while paving a new legend with the current heroes.
The New Crusaders will be pick up where their predecessors left off in the suburb of Red Circle. He commented again to Newsrama:

"The cool thing about comic books is it has this tremendous legacy that goes back forever, and all these stories that keep evolving," he said. "We think it makes the characters richer when they still have these histories."

New Crusaders: Rise of the Heroes will be written by Ian Flynn with art by Ben Bates. New Crusaders: Rise of the Heroes #1 will hit sleeves this Septembers.

NEWS EDITION #12 - RED CIRCLE RETURNS, MARVEL'S ANDROID APP & WONDER WOMAN'S DADDY?!

12th Edition of CBC NEWS is here will news you need to get through your comic addictions.

RED CIRCLE ARE BACK WITH NEW GENERATION & OLD PUBLISHER

A couple of years ago, DC Comics unleashed a group of books under the Red Circle, who were characters in Archie Comics under the same name. The books were cancelled. Back in the 1990s, DC had created another imprint called Impact Comics with the same characters.  That tanked about 2 years later. So it seems that DC & the Red Circle characters were just not a great match.
Yet, that is all changing next year. Archie Comics, who created the Red Circle characters back in the 80s have gotten them back. And in 2012, they will unleash them again. The New Crusaders will bring back the heroes of the Red Circle in a city called . .. well, Red Circle. After retired heroes are killed, their successors rise up with veteran Shield the new team, called The New Crusaders after the murders of the originals.
New Crusaders will be offered as the first of digital exclusive serials with art by Ben Bates and written by Ian Flynn. These 6 page stories will be offered by archives of the original Red Circle stories in a Netflix like service.  While the monthly fee is yet determined, Archie Comics says that New Crusaders is just the beginning of the resurgence of the Red Circle. This service will start in 2012.

MAJOR SPOILER ON WONDER WOMAN'S DADDY?!

It seems that spoilers are abound these days as we see things change with the new DC 52. And they are changing Wonder Woman's origin. Printed in today's New York Post, it is detailed that Wonder Woman #3, coming out next month, will reveal a retweeked origin of Wonder Woman. And this new origin is both a small and big change at the same time:

  Wonder Woman has a father . . .
And It's Zeus.

As the article stated, Wonder Woman writer Brian Azzarello decided it was time to give Diana a father. Here are comments from said articles:

“Everybody’s got a father, even if he’s not the nicest guy in the world”,

Adding that the Olympians are the original crime family then says:

“They’re pretty nasty people… they can also do a lot of good. They’re like a mirror of human beings, turned up to 11.″

Jim Lee and Azzarello stated that this would add new dimensions to Diana, boost her status as the premiere female hero and actually make her relate-able as the Greek Gods have been considered the most relate-able in all of mythology. And while Zeus will become her father, Hippolyta is still her mother. As the new origin will detail, we will see how fans will react to this, though it is understandable how Azarello states that this change will open Diana up to a larger supporting cast. Wonder Woman #3, written by Brian Azzarello with art by Cliff Chang will hit stores this November 16th, 2011!
