TV/Movie News: J. August Richards Returns to Whedon in "S.H.I.E.L.D."

For those of you not familiar with Joss Whedon outside of his work on The Avengers, you'll find his tv projects usually have actors working together again & again. S.H.I.E.L.D. is on the horizon as we know Whedon is directing the pilot. And while we do have an idea on some of the cast, the latest edition adds to Whedon's rep to reuse actors as "Angel"/"Conviction"/"Raising the Bar" alum J. August Richards has been casted for Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D.

What role August will play is hush hush but there has been everything from him being a younger Nick Fury, to Nick Fury Jr to even particular Marvel Heroes. August joins the cast alongside Clark Gregg, Agent Coulson in both the Marvel Live Action movies & in the recent Marvel cartoons such as Ultimate Spiderman. The pilot for the show is said to be done and being pushed for a fall release on ABC.

   J. August Richards played Gunn on "Angel" from through all 5 seasons, making his first appearance as the character in season 1, episode 18 entitled "Gunn." After Richards' "Gunn" character was a laywer in season 5, he seemed to have a taste for it as he was lawyer in both "Conviction", which was a spin off from Law & Order: Special Victims Unit & TNT's "Raising the Bar" which both, unfortunately, were cancelled.

Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. is set to debut on ABC this Fall.
