Comic News: John "Super Ugly" Williams' Check Please!

John "Super Ugly" Williams' Check Please! comes to Kickstarter, featuring a slew of Action Lab creators!

My name is John Williams and I run the Guest Checks blog.

Before becoming a full time artist, I waited tables for 12 years and love the
culture of food and restaurants, I just recently started a Kickstarter project

and thought you guys might be interested. A few years back I created a blog where my friends would draw whatever they wanted on Guest Checks, or "the checks that waiters write your order on". It was so fun, seeing what they created. The blog got such a great response, we were featured on the Huffington Post, Laughing Squid and a few other Restaurant and Food blogs. I have always thought of this project as perfect for Kickstarter.  We started this project to help us fund the release of Check Please! A 9x9inch, 80 page, full color hardcover book. We have lined up some of the best and brightest artists across the country to be in this book, like, N8 VanDyke, Matt136, Skinner, Dave Correia, Cody Schibi, Emonic, C.B. Canga, Ken Davis, Super Ugly, Dave Dwonch, JoeMur, Robert Bowen, Brian Canio, Cody Vrosh, Danielle Corsetto, Sam Flores and so many more. I hope you can be a part of this project, whether it's spreading the word through your website and social media, or just telling a friend you think might be into it. These kind of projects need as much word of mouth as possible, cause you never know who this is going to appeal to. Please take some time to check out the KickStarter page, I have attached the link for the

and some images you can use on your various pages. I appreciate any feedback and comments and whatever help you provide, even if that is sending us some well wishes.
Thank you so much,
John Williams

Jeremias thoughts:
You know I used to work in the food industry myself, and a collaboration like this featuring art on something not commonly seen is pretty cool.I t reminds me of what I used to do, not on guest checks, but pretty much the same, plus Action Lab's own Dave Dwonch is contributing. Chip in if you can,
