Darkonslaught Productions: Power Rangers Legacy Power Morpher
After many years fans can finally own the original Power Morpher. Well its a newer version but still its pretty much the one they used on MMPR. The bigger size may not be 100% accurate but for those who couldn't get the original can at least own the new one. The box has a really retro feel with the lightning bolts and the green color helps it make it looks like one of the original products. The added Die-cast gives the morpher more weight along with the worn out coins makes it look more like a prop rather then a toy. On top of that the added belt buckle which was removed on the original release gives it more display options along with adding a cosplay option. At this moment It is a toysrus exclusive and it is unknown if it will be sold at other retailers so keep a lookout at your store to see if you can get one.

Legend of Power, WEEK # 41: Racism & Douchebags in Red
LEGENDS OF POWER, WEEK # 41
Trip Takes A Stand
Power Rangers Time Force
This week, it’s time for racism! Yay. Yep. We go with one of the first Ranger shows that deals with racism, Power Rangers Time Force. While the Time Force Rangers have been fighting mutants, we find out half way through the series, that there is a least 1 mutant isn’t what he …um …she … s/he seems. As soon as the mutant known as Notacon gets unfrozen by Frax, we find that he doesn’t want to hurt anyone. Frax tries to put some kind of control device on him but it does not work right away and Notacon escapes.

As Notacon
shows up in Silver Hills, we find that people are having a normal reaction to
him … being scared; which is set up by the precedent of the series. Trip ends
up finding him and helping him … much to the chagrin of Eric, the Quantum
Ranger. Trip hids with Notacon who tells a tearful story that he own stole food
to survive (deep stuff) and just wants to be frozen again.
Meanwhile,
as the Time Force defeats some Cyclobots looking for Notacon, Eric goes out of his
way to get the Douchebag of the Year Award as he vows in front of the other 4
Time Force Rangers that he’ll not only kill Notacon but he’ll take down anyone
in his way. Lucas reminds Eric that he’s out numbered. The Quantum Ranger
responds with use his Quantum Defender to blast at their feet and disappear.
Eric finds Trip and Notacon. Eric
tells Trip to get out of the way. Trip though stands in front of Notacon just
before Eric can fire his Quantum Defender. Trip goes on to Eric about just
because someone is a mutant does not make them a bad person. (Preach on Trip!)
Trip even goes as far as saying that if he’s gonna destroy Notacon for being
different, he’s gonna have to do the same to him, showing his alien origin to
Eric for the first time. Eric looks as if he’s about to relent as Frax’s device
goes off. Notacon is out of control and gets giant. The Time Force Rangers
spring into action but so does the Q-Rex. It looks like the Q-Rex plans to
destroy Notacon but instead just holds on to the mutant so the other Time Force
Rangers can destroy the mind control device. The Time Force grants Notacon’s
wish to be frozen again.
After the
battle, Trip goes up to Eric saying he knew he wasn’t a bad guy. Eric, needing
to be an asshole, says that he will destroy the mutants and take down anyone
who gets in his way. The others comment on Eric being a jerk but Trip says that
he’s not that way … just very … Lonely.
So, in one foul swoop, this episode
gives us a great confrontation between Eric and another Time Force Ranger that
isn’t Wes or Jen, deal with racism, makes you question the motives and mental
states of the previous mutants and fleshes out the lesson that being different
does not mean bad at all. Standing up in what you believe in is also a very big
lesson from this episode. We get some great acting, wonderful pacing and really
good story in this episode.
Why is this
# 41? Cause the conflicts from Power Rangers Time Force are even better, as you
will see Time Force again in this countdown. It is really a good episode.
Still, it is a good episode that holds up, even today.
And that is
your Legend of Power this week. Get ready for another Legend Next Week, till
then May the Power Protect You!

Legends of Power, WEEK 50 - A Countdown of The Greatest Power Rangers Stories
Welcome to the first of a 50 week long column. Once a week, there will be a new Power Ranger story that was seen on the series post on here as among the best. Before we get started, I wanted to break down how this list is tabulated.
Between looking over each series and diving into the episodes of each show, we are gonna look at the best that Power Rangers has to offer. There will be at least one episode of each series, Save for Megaforce, on this list. So be prepared. Some of the stories you will see will not be surprises. Some of the stories in this list most definitely will.
Remember, while this list is somewhat subjective, fan comments and votes are STILL viable. For the next 50 weeks, we will be counting down an episode each week. So, grab your morphers and let's rock.
MIGHTY MORPHIN MUTANTS
Ah. Yes. We start with the first season. And oddly enough, we start with the second to last episode of the very first season. Mighty Morphin Mutants has a lot of great things going for it as to why it made the countdown.:
- We have The Rangers fighting against a team of Evil Rangers
- We got a character subplot and slight development for Tommy: with his forgetfulness.
- It's a six on six ranger fight with the evil Rangers led by a crayfish monster.
- Some damn good fighting scenes.
- One of the funniest Bulk and Skull scenes in Power Rangers History.
- One of the best and longest Zord battles in PR history.
Mighty Morphin Mutants is probably the second best instance of evil rangers for the first season .... heck, for the entire run of Mighty Morphin. The episode felt like a movie for the most part and it was Glorious. Yet, there are several things that make this episode hit #50.
- The Tommy Subplot seemed kinda of there. You could have substituted it with a different subplot and the episode would have been just as good for the first season.
- Heavy Use of Zyu2 footage is both a good and bad in this episode.
- We NEVER see what happens to the evil Pink and Yellow Rangers. We just *Assume* they were destroyed but we see them go flying.
- It's season 1 acting. What do you want?
Overall, why not the best episode ever, Mighty Morphin' Mutants was an enjoyable ride with an almost cinematic like feel to it. Check out Mighty Morphin' Mutants to see what I mean.
But till then, Happy New Year's and welcome ... It's gonna be a bumpy and awesome ride.

Toku 101: Power Morphicon 3
Hello and welcome to the return of Toku 101; I'm your columnist, Wheelchair21. After being on vacation and attending Power Morphicon 3, I'm here to bring you some cool details and news! So let's get back on track and get some coverage on this amazing event.
Power Morphicon 3
The event lasted for three days, in Pasadena California at the Sheraton Convention Center. It was from August 17th to the 19th, and was sponsored by Bandai. This was to comemorate the 20th anniversary of Power Rangers by closing out Samurai and promoting Mega Force. Along with that we had Johnny Yong Bosch and his band Eyeshine as the guests of honor, followed up by the special appearance of David Yost! The convention was amazing and worth the trip, but will I do it again well that all matters on what will happen and occur at the next Power Morphicon. Just as for this one there was alot to with not so much time to get it all done!
On Saturday, when the cast of Power Rangers Samurai was at the convention everything was a buzz due to the looming appearance of David Yost. Well the Samurai cast caused huge lines to form up, for the meet and greet/signing before and after their panel. It was so long of a line that people were practically blocking all the entrances to the panels. Then when it came time to the David Yost, event/panel his signing actually almost caused the convention to be shutdown, due to fire hazards as the line had three paths within the center leading all the way to outside entrance. Finally to end Saturday was the Paul Schrier's Ice Cream Truckers and Eyeshine Concert, which was amazing. That was Saturday thou, practically all about waiting on lines for autographs and photos. While Friday and Sunday were come and go days as the thing was starting/ending on those certain days.
Friday was mostly people walking around the merchant room, and people going around getting autographs. Along with that people were busy trying to get the Power Morphicon exclusive Samurai 2 Pack with Shark Attack Red Ranger and Super Mooger, while waiting for the '+18 Panel' with Johnny Yong Bosch, Walter Jones, Catherine Sutherland, Jason Narvy, Tony Oliver, Ron Regge, Dan Southworth and Jason Faunt. The plus '+18 Panel' was problem the utter most show stealing panel at the whole entire convention since people were just asking questions you wouldn't get at the actual panels meant for the show. Other than that Friday was just for fans becoming aware of their surroundings.
Sunday though didn't do much better than Friday, until Rick Medina, and other members of the Samurai Cast appeared for signings. Medina came with full force as he came bringing his Blazing Lion jacket for people to while for photos with him, along with cool on set photos of him on set of Wild Force. So mostly he got over the most with fans for just bring his old Wild Force things with him. The other Samurai Rangers, held their quite while except for Najee "Kevin the Blue Ranger" because I believe he's the least liked Ranger on the entire show. Hector and Brittany (Mike & Emily) got alot of the attention out of the returning Samurai Rangers for the last day of the convention. (Me with Medina up-top)
One cool aspect while attending the convention was the filming of the web-series "No Nerds Here" starring Jessica Rey (Wild Force White), Jason Faunt (Time Force Red) and Nika Burrise (Zeo/Turbo Yellow). I along with TokuAnimeNews co-host Projektrdm and Reviewtopia's EZ Rider took part in this filming. We found it to be entertaining while, yet cheesy, corny and boring as some of the takes weren't too exciting. The Cast and Crew thou that were hired on, were quite nice and interacted with us extras. I along with Projektrdm and a few selected PMC attendee extras really warmed up to specifically the director of the series, Skylar who was a really cool individual. Anyways that was a great convention, and panels of the convention are all over the web by now so go check them out. Along with the panels is the trailer for Mega Force, along with the demos of the Mega Force toy line such as 4" Figures, Retro Fires, Deluxe Megazords and Roleplay toys. So we got a lot cool news, while enjoying some witty panels while being forced to wait for the upcoming finale of Super Samurai...
