Card News: Top 4 Cardfight Vanguard North American Finalists REVEALED & Tournament Results

 The following comes from Busiroad itself:

Anaheim, CA (Nov. 4, 2012) – Bushiroad USA Inc. concluded its North American Championship for the Cardfight!! Vanguard World Championship 2012 series on Sunday, November 4, following two days of tournaments and special events at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Over 750 players participated in Saturday’s Cardfight!! Vanguard Los Angeles Qualifiers making it the largest North American Cardfight!! Vanguard tournament to date.  Donald Buckley and Masashi Teruyama finished first and second respectively in the qualifiers to capture the last two positions among the 16 finalists competing for the North American Championship, which took place the following day on November 4. Donald Buckley was unable to participate in the finals, and was replaced by third place finisher Austin Pham.

Both Teruyama and Pham joined finalists who had previously topped Cardfight!! Vanguard qualifiers in Toronto, Dallas, Mexico, Seattle, Chicago, New York, and Atlanta. The North American Finals saw Brandon Smith, the first place finisher from Toronto, going undefeated to win the North American Championship. He will be joined by second place finisher, Christopher Sok, third place finisher Gabriel Espinosa de los Monteros Escobedo, and fourth place finisher Raymond Wong, as they represent North America in the Cardfight!! Vanguard World Championship taking place in Tokyo, Japan on December 9.

Other side events included autograph and panel sessions with voice actors Carol-Anne Day and Roger Rhodes from the Cardfight!! Vanguard animated series, and Cardfight!! Vanguard card illustration artist Kazuo Matsushima. Even Bushiroad CEO Takaaki Kidani and Bushiroad SEA President Masayuki Goto actively participated in the festivities facing off against attendees in the Cardfight!! Vanguard Gunslinger event. Also taking place alongside Sunday’s championship was a Cardfight!! Vanguard Team Tournament which drew over 400 participants and saw team TKR ELITE (Jon Hoover, Justin Seo, Chris Todd) finish first.

This is definitely something to behold. A diverse group of players as well as both CEO Takaaki Kidani & Masayuki Goto playing Vanguard has definitely helped give the game and Busiroad a great image. It speaks volumes that two of their top men are playing the game with the fans and how diverse the players are.

 We wish the 4 finalists good luck in the World Championship next month.

Card News: Cardfight Vanguard Los Angeles Qualifier Details

      Yep, Ladies & Gents. Tomorrow starts the final World Championship Qualifier here in North America in Los Angeles. November 3rd, 2012:

 - Qualifiers Tournament-

November 4th, 2012: 


   - A Tag Team Tournament  starting @ 10:00 am PST

          Teams of 3 will face off with each other in a double elimination Tournament. As stated in an earlier article here, each player on a team must use a deck with only one clan and each player must have a different clan from their teammates. All participants in the Tag Tournament will receive a promo card of Guardian of the Skies, Night Griffon. 


 - Main Event 

      The Top 16 fighters from the 8 Qualifier Tournaments will duke it out for the title of North American Champion. The Top 4 fighters will receive an invitation to go to Tokyo, Japan to participate in the 2012 Cardfight Vanguard World Championships on December 9.



SIDE & SPECIAL EVENTS: 

   Now, we also get into more goodies at the Tournament.

   November 3rd & 4th, 2012: 

    -Gunslinger Fight! @ 3:30 pm - 6:00 PST (November 3) & 2:30 pm - 4:00 PST (November 4th)

     This is the only side event going on both days is one of the most interesting. Busiroad's own CEO, Takaaki Kidani, will be challenging any US player there to Vanguard. Yes. You read that right. The CEO of Busiroad is gonna play his own card game against US players both days of the Tournament.
   

  November 3rd, 2012: 

- Autographs
 
    *Carol-Anne Day ( voice of "Misaki") & Roger Rhodes (voice of "Ren") of the English dub of the Cardfight Vanguard Anime will be there giving Autographs @ 3:30 pm PST.

     *Card Artist Kazuo Matsushima (designed cards like Flogal) will be giving his autograph @ 4:40 pm PST.

   

  November 4th, 2012: 

    - Voice Actor Panel featuring Carol-Anne Day & Roger Rhodes in Room 209A 
        From 12:30 pm -1:30pm PST

     - Prize Raffle by Busiroad staff; In Room 210. Time to be determined.

    - Learn to play Vanguard in Room 209A from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm PST. 

          * A step by step as instructors will hold seminars how to play the game. Instructors will go over the game with you, including proving you a deck to use and give you a promo Blaster Blade to keep.    All 

     -  Autograph Sessions as follows:

Card News: Cardfight Vanguard Los Angeles Tournament For World Championship

  While this upcoming weekend will hold the World Qualifiers in North America in Atlanta, the next and last Qualifier for the year for the CFV World Championship will be held in the City of Angels itself, Los Angeles. It will be held on November 4th, 2012 at the Anahiem Convention Center (most notably known as the site for San Diego Comic Con). Only Cardfighters will invitations to this qualifier are allowed to compete.

  Deck regulations include that only opaque sleeves that cover the back of the cards can be used. English cards only with no cards from the upcoming Banquet of Diva booster. Cardfighters can only use decks with a single clan and each of their teammates must play with different clans than their team. 3 Fighters per team. Those without teams will get group together to participate in the team battles, if they wish to do so.

The top 4 Cardfighters will be invited to Tokyo, Japan to take part in the World Championship with all travel fees paid for.

  Here is the breakdown for the Team Tournament. Each round will last 20 minutes. Each member of a team will face off against a member of an opposing team. Teams who lost 2 matches will be eliminated. Teams with more wins than the other team move on. The  tournament will continue till there is only 1 team that is undefeated. All participates will receive a Guardian of the Skies Night Griffon. Teams with 1 lose or less will receive an addition Guardian of the Skies, Night Griffon. The winning team will receive an official Cardfight Vanguard Binder.

  There will also be Free Fight which will allow Cardfighters to fight various people, just for fun. But you won't leave empty handed. Participate in 2 or more matches, and you will get Dragonic Vanisher. And if you participate in 4 or more matches, you will get Sphere Magus.

Guests in the Tournament will include the illustrator of the Cardfight Vanguard cards himself, Kazuo Matsushima. Plus, actors from the English dub of the anime, Carol Anne Day (Misaki) & Roger Rhodes (Ren & MC Miya).

So Cardfighters ... Stand Up! And get ready to show us your Vanguard.
