Comic News: Gail Simone is OFF Batgirl

Confirmation of this came from multiple sources, including Gail's own twitter & The Bleeding Cool. According to what was said, new Batgirl editor Brian Cunningham dismissed Gail Simone as writer for Batgirl. No reasons why considering the book did better than most fans anticipated. Many  have commented that that is squarely because of Gail being on the book.

Meanwhile, Gail said her goodbyes on twitter:

I want to give huge, huge thanks to the other creators in the
bat-offices, and editors Bobbie Chase and @yourpallsmitty, champions
all.

And the biggest thank you of all to you guys for supporting this book
so hugely and making it a commercial and critical success.
I honestly don’t have the words right now to thank you all. I’m pretty
choked up and it’s all gratitude, not bitterness.

With that being said,   people question the future of the title. Particular of Barbara Gordon as well. Could this signal her return to being Oracle. Could this also signal the end of Barbara Gordon? And what will happen to Gail, now that it seems that she is no longer writing for DC ... unless she is  writing something in secret? Time can only tell.
