Marvel Comics & Wizard World Reveal 'Amazing Spider-Man #1.2' Exclusive Variant Cover By J.G. Jones For Philadelphia Comic Con

VIP Attendees Receive Free Copy At Pennsylvania Convention Center, June 19-22; Continues Year-long Series In Which Marvel Offers Exclusive Books At All 16 Wizard World Shows

NEW YORK, May 15, 2014 – Marvel Comics and Wizard World, Inc. (OTCBB: WIZD) today revealed the latest edition of its 2014 series of exclusive variant covers of the best Marvel titles with the unveiling of Amazing Spider-Man #1.2, drawn by two-time Eisner Award nominee J.G. Jones. VIP attendees at Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con, June 19-22 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, will receive a free copy of the limited-edition book at registration.

Jones is scheduled to be on site at the event to sign copies (autograph fees may apply). Leading professional comic grader CGC will also be on hand to accept books for grading and Signature Series.

The colored version of Amazing Spider-Man #1.2 will be limited to 4,000 copies and provided free at registration to all Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con VIP attendees, including any celebrity VIP packages.

Jones's Amazing Spider-Man #1.2 follows the first six entries, Miracleman #1 and Miracleman #2, both drawn by Eisner Award Hall of Famer Neal Adams for Wizard World Portland Comic Con (Jan. 24-26) and New Orleans Comic Con (Feb. 7-9), respectively; Wolverine #1, illustrated by noted cover artist Greg Horn, for Wizard World Sacramento Comic Con (March 7-9); Daredevil #1 by Michael Golden for Wizard World Louisville Comic Con (March 28-30); Wolverine & The X-Men #1 by David Mack for Wizard World St. Louis Comic Con (April 4-6); and Hulk #1 by Mike Grell for Wizard World Minneapolis Comic Con (May 2-4). Artwork is also complete for Amazing Spider-Man #1 by John Tyler Christopher for Wizard World Atlanta Comic Con (May 30 – June 1).

Farewell to a Legend RIP Peter Octavius.

Hey there InfiKnights, 'tis with a heavy heart that I write this review. The year of the Spider is over with the end of 2012 Spidey's 50th year in print Marvel has printed its 700th and final issue of Amazing Spiderman to soon be replaced with the new series Superior Spiderman out this month.
    This ending to an era not only marks the end of a 50 year 700 issue long series but the *Spoiler Alert* death of a beloved hero, Peter Parker is dead ........ well his mind is anyway his body is let's say under new management. Confused? Well then clearly you've failed to read Issue 700 of ASM. And to that I say..... Get your ass to a comic shop and buy it its a piece of history GO NOW!!!!! go ahead I'll be here when you get back. ...........did you get it? Did you read it? If you said no to any of those questions then the following review will spoil it for you THIS IS YOUR FINAL WARNING!!!

Okay now so Doc Ock was locked up dying on his death bed when he repeatedly starts muttering "Peter Parker". Spidey is summoned to his cell and asks for privacy and it's then in Octavius's cell on the Raft where he completes his sentence "I am Peter Parker" turns out sometime during the 'Ends of the Earth' fiasco Octavius was able to switch bodies with Peter and had full access to all his memories. His plan was to live on as Peter Parker as Peter died in his stead. Peter was able to stage a breakout and planned on reversing the swap but Ock was 2 steps ahead. They had a final battle ending with Pete instilling the morals of Spiderman to Octavius with his dying breath.
 
Well  as you all know I've loved the Dan Slott run of ASM including this storyline. It was beautifully written the art is wonderful, really capturing the intensity of each moment. One itsy bitsy problem......HOW THE HELL CAN YOU KILL OFF THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF THE MOST PROMINENT CHARACTER IN THE INDUSTRY REPLACING HIM WITH HIS ARCHENEMY....ARE YOU FUCKING INSANE?!?!?!?Peter Parker has been the staple of the marvel universe for years and now he's gone wtf man as I read the final issue I felt as though i was losing a close friend I sat in silence a few minutes afterward honestly sad for the first time in a while a fictional story actually tugged at my heart strings. Peter's dead RIP buddy you will be missed. 

Laid Back Comics: Spider-Man #700

(NOTE THERE WILL BE SPOILERS FROM ISSUE 700 BELOW. DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T READ IT.)

Comics around the holiday’s season tend to be a slow. Depending when the days of Christmas and New Year falls the publishers often don’t push out a lot of titles into the market place; this year we got something exciting in Amazing Spider-Man #700, a milestone for our Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and also the ‘end’ of the title.

 This is where I would add the snark of nothing last forever in comics and so forth, but been seeing that so often lately I felt like I try to skip it here. Though if you wish you can pop over to a message board and read it there. I don’t mind.

 Issue 700 is the climax of stories writer Dan Slott has been building towards, though we only just saw how much so in the recent issue 698. The cliff-notes version of the story is that Doctor Octopus is dying and like many of us the idea of that is scary, the difference between us and Doc Ock is his 'superior' intelligence to put together a plan to have him live on. His plan was to switch his mind into the body of his greatest rival Spider-Man. In doing so, Spider-Man would then die and Ock would live on in a new body full of Spider-Man's powers. And in shocking twist, it works.

This all comes to ahead in the 'finale' issue of Amazing Spider-Man where Peter tries one last attempt to get his mind back into his body, which turns out to be the final thing Peter does. You see like the shocking twist of Doc Ock's plan to switch minds, he seems to win out in the end and stays with in Peter's body as 'Doc Ock' dies. Though Otto was looking to be the hero all along and when getting a sudden flash of Peter's memories he makes a bold claim to be a better, Superior, Spider-Man. And this is where I start to feel conflicted about a lot of this.

Through out the issue there was several things I found out of place mostly with the characters themselves. Now in trying to explain this may be hard I will do my best. Peter (Ock) seems to be rekindling the romance with Mary Jane, but the way he talks to her and at times treats her is harsh. And yet she never calls him out on it. They known each other for so long for Peter to suddenly start calling her 'woman' and being cold was out of place. At one point he even shots her, along with two of other friends, with Spider-Man's impact webbing. Something is off putting about this in this 'new' Spider-Man.

Also the idea that this could lead to redemption of Doc Ock, that he secretly wants to do right and be the hero. That premise seems faulty since they way he wanted to do it was the most literal way of identity thief there is. And then to gloat and boast about this victory in the follow up Avenging Spider-Man issue. It so far doesn't feel like this is someone looking for redemption as it is someone who was just sick of losing and now finding a way to change it, concupiscence be damned.

The end of the issue where Ock (Peter) was dying and forcing his memories on to Spider-Man (Ock) was a force part of the story that for me doesn't work. This new Spider-Man may have the same memories as the old, but he lacks the same experience that Peter went through to get to where he is/was today. There was also a lack of a send off for Peter in his death. He tried to put together this one plan, but when things really didn't work out, he just felt like he gave up.

There is a lot of thoughts I have about this change that I laid out here and so far they aren't the most positive I know. We are only at the start of this Superior Spider-Man, we have to see what may come from all of this and how. The stories haven't been read so who knows what the future holds for this Spider-Man. I will say this though, when first noted by writer Dan Slott that this story may break the internet I had my doubts, but following the reactions to the news, it seems Mr. Slott I was wrong on that end and you were right.

My Look back on Christmas past.

NYCC: Peter Parket NOT Spider-Man in upcoming re-launch; MJ and Spidey back?

Even though I'm interested in the recently announced Marvel NOW relaunch, The Superior Spider-Man, that doesn't mean I'm questioning some decisions that the comic giant has made with this, like today's news article for example......

According to Newsarama, during a retailer breakfast that was held, this thursday, writer Dan Slott said a few more details with the comic.

"Dan Slott teased a few more Superior Spider-Man details during a retailer breakfast held at the start of New York Comic Con. Marvel Comics has confirmed that Slott told retailers in attendance that the Spider-Man starring in the January-debuting series is indeed a character other than Peter Parker, and that Spider-Man and Mary Jane would be getting back together — which would mean that Peter and MJ will not be."

Though this was reported by many others comic sites, one actually revealed that this new Spider-Man will have retractable claws.


What will happen to Pete in #700 that has him no longer being "the amazing wall-crawler"? Does he die? Does he once again retire? Is Marvel gonna go extremely drastic and make Pete a villain? More Importantly... who's this new Spider-Man?

Kaine? ("The Scarlet Spider".... another Marvel book I recommend)


or if this would be tied in to the ending of this year's event book, Spider-Men....

Miles Morales (616/Mainstream U): Like it's shown in the final panel of Spider-Men. After peter does a "goggle" search on the character, it's possible by his reaction that there is a version of Miles in Peter's universe. It's also possible by judging from his reaction, that they're maybe a connection/Peter knows this "Miles" in his universe.

Whatever happens to Pete and whomever this new wall-crawler is, we won't know until the final issue of Amazing Spider-Man, which is still slated to release on both newsstands & digital download, December 25th. The debut of the relaunch with the new spidey, "The Superior Spider-Man", will be available on newsstands & digital download the following day, December 26th.

Comic News: Details & Artwork for The Superior Spider-Man debut

It was revealed in today's edition of USA Today, that current Amazing Spider-Man writer, Dan Slott and "Amazing" artists, Humberto Ramos and Giuseppe Camuncoli are sticking with the friendly neighborhood wall-crawler with the upcoming re-launch, "The Superior Spider-Man".

Joining Mr. Slott, Mr. Ramos and Mr. Camuncoli for "Superior", is artist Ryan Stegman. Mr. Stegman has recently contributed with Marvel Comics with both Fantastic Four and The Scarlet Spider. His first art duties will be on the debut arc for the book, titled "Hero Or Menace".


While we don't know what will happen to Pete in the final issue of Amazing Spider-Man, issue #700, slated to release on December 25th. It does sound that whatever event happens to unfold in the "finale", it will have a drastic impact on Peter with "Superior".


"A far darker Spider-Man than fans have ever seen." The one thing that does not go with this Spider-Man is the term 'Friendly neighborhood'," said writer Dan Slott. "I've always been the omniscient hand that's been protecting Peter Parker and Spider-Man, and not letting anything too bad happen to him. And now I've become this cruel god. There's something exciting about the, about going, 'Mwah-ha-ha-ha-ha, here is what's going to happen to you, Spider-Man!' And it's drastic and it's big and it's exciting and it's never been done before."

The artist for Superior's frist arc, "Hero Or Menace", Ryan Stegman did talk with USA Today about Spidey's re-designed look for Marvel NOW.


"His belt looks a lot different, and there's points at the end of his glove that add a little aggressiveness to his costume," explains Mr. Stegman. Ryan also promised that Spidey will have new abilities in Superior, something that hasn't happened to the wall-crawler since the 2001 pre-"One More Day" arc, "The Other". Also returning in the future will be The Sinister Six. He finished by discussing how he'll be delivering a unique take on the supporting cast of characters in Pete's daily life.

"I try to keep the history in mind. A lot of guys make Aunt May almost look like a witch, which is something I want to stay away from. Just because you're old, you don't have to look like a monster."

The finale to the "Amazing Spider-Man" ongoing series, issue #700 will be available to purchase both on newstands and through digital distribution on Christmas Day, December 25th.

It's successor and re-launch to coincide with Marvel NOW, "The Superior Spider-Man" will be on newsstands and digital download, the following day, December 26th.


So for that Spider-Man fan in you life, you now have an idea on what to get he/she for this year's  Holiday season...... that, and the Blu-Ray/DVD release of "The Amazing Spider-Man" on November 9th. In other words, this was not only a great year to be a comic reader, but a great year to be a Spider-Man fan and a respective way that Marvel Comics celebrated the character's 50th anniversary.



"Peter Parker and his masked alter-ego, Spider-Man debuted in Amazing Fantasy #15, August 1962. The Amazing Spider-Man ongoing series started in March 1963 with Marvel Comics publishing that title and future titles. The creators of the amazing wall-crawler were Stan "the man" Lee and artist, Steve Ditko. At the start of 1999, the series was relaunched with Vol. 2 and started back to issue #1. However, during the comic's 40th anniversary, the title was reverted back to it's original numbering, with issue #500 in December 2003."

Comic/Card News: Spiderman Cardfight Vanguard Unit Confirmed With Amazing Spiderman Blu Ray

   Recently  announced during the Tokyo Game Show, Busiroad has worked out that there will be a special Spiderman Cardfight Vanguard Card with the Japanese release of the Amazing Spiderman Blu ray and DVD. Spidey will be part of his own clan known as the Etangers and will have a similar effect as Thunder Break Dragon: a Limit Break that gives him 5000 more attack points and a Counter Blast of 2 which will retire a Grade 2 or lower unit. This card is perfect to use with either the Narukami or Kagero clans, which are played by Cardfight Vanguard character, Toshiki Kai.

Comic News: Mark Millar to be consultant with Fox Studios' Marvel films.

Through a Press Release sent out earlier today, it was revealed that Mark Millar (Kick-Ass, Ultimates, Secret Service), would be the consultant for future Marvel Comics films through 20th Century Fox.

Marking an expanded commitment to some of its most important franchises, Twentieth Century Fox has brought on comics superstar Mark Millar to serve as a creative consultant on the studio's upcoming projects based on Marvel Comics properties.

Millar wrote several celebrated Marvel books such as The Ultimates, Civil War and Wolverine: Old Man Logan, before moving on to found Millarworld (http://millarworld.tv), where he continues to develop existing film franchise titles Wanted and Kick-Ass, as well as newer comic properties The Secret Service, Superior and Nemesis — the later also in development at Fox. Millar will work with Foc on developing new avenues for its "X-Men" and "Fantastic Four" tent-poles.

Commented Fox production president Emma Watts: “We are excited to be working with Mark. In addition to his groundbreaking Marvel work, he is simply one of the most original voices in

comics today and will be an invaluable  resource to us and to our filmmakers as we look for fresh opportunities to innovate within our shared Marvel universe."



Upcoming for the Studio is The Wolverine, staring Hugh Jackman, directed by James Mangold; X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, helmed by Matthew Vaughn; and a reboot of "FANTASTIC FOUR", to be directed by Josh Trank (Chronicle).“As someone who has spent his entire life obsessed with both comic-books and movies, this is essentially my dream gig as it's a unique combination of both,” stated Millar.

Comic News: The Amazing Spider-Man ongoing series to end this December with Issue #700

Marvel Comics announced today that one of their long-running and beloved comics will be "no more", come this December. That ongoing series is "The Amazing Spider-Man".


Current writer, Dan Slott has stated in previous interviews that once the issue is launched, with the issue's "monumental" events that he would have to go into hiding. After this year's Spider-Man centric event, "Ends of the Earth". Dr. Octopus now knows that Peter Parker is the friendly neighborhood wall-crawler, in other words something BIG will happen in this issue.

So, the movie was released in theaters and I'm certain someone on TheBrokenInfinite shall have a review of it up soon, but today let's take a look at the movie tie in game. Movie tie in games as most of us already know don't have the greatest reputation. So, does this game have what it takes to not be a utterly horrific and boring video game? We'll find out now. Minor plot details ahead. There's your warning.

The Amazing Spider-Man video game takes place after the movie and we find that Alistair Smythe is running Oscorp now. Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy are snooping around Oscorp, at first anyway, and during their visit a lot of creatures that are similar to the Lizard escape and on their escape unleash a deadly virus that can turn others into similar creatures. This prompts Spider-Man to break Curt Connors out of jail and have him work on an antidote also along the way he tries to get to the bottom of what Alistair Smythe is planning with Oscorp. That's all the story you get from me and that's all seen by the very beginning of the game.

Now for what's important, the gameplay. Similarly to Spider Man 2 and 3 the game features an open world version of New York for Spider Man to swing in. On top of main story missions Spider Man can also engage in side missions, look for random items around New York that unlock bonus content like comic books and stop petty crimes as they happen. If you've played previous Spider Man games you'll know how swinging is done automatically and it does it's job nothing broken with that. Spider Man also has a web rush mode where he can slow down time and look at where exactly he's going to go next and when you have a target chosen Spidey will zip there quickly.

As for combat the Amazing Spider-Man takes cues from the recent Batman : Arkham City and Arkham Asylum games. One button in one direction and Spider-Man will start swinging at enemies and another button and he will dodge and if he can, counterattack. Instead of gadgets like Batman however on top of attacking and counterattacking Spider-Man can also use his webbing to trip up his enemies. One thing to note about this combat system, even though it's similar to Batman's I can't say it's as tight, With Batman you feel like you have more control and that you're telling Batman where to go and who to hit and who to counter. With Spider-Man it feels like Spidey is on autopilot and all you really need to do is keep mashing attack and sometimes counter and he'll win. That isn't to say it's always that easy though some enemies have some heavy firepower and also like Batman, Spider-Man needs to sneak around and take everyone out with stealth attacks. Including the famous "hang 'em up by the ceiling" takedown. The combat is still fun though, a little too easy but still fun. (For your information I was playing the game on normal difficulty, so it might be a bit harder on hard)

So, is Spider-Man worth it? Well, the story itself might be short but it certainly is fun and if you're a perfectionist you can even finish the story quickly and not have to worry about missing out on all the collectibles and side missions. You can continue to roam New York even after you beat the game. With that in mind, on top of the gameplay I'd have to say it's worth getting when it's around $30 or $40. Not a whole lot to it but it's certainly not bad by any means.

I'll give the Amazing Spider-Man a 7 out of 10.

The Amazing Spiderman: Ends of the Earth-The World in the Tentacles of Doc Ock

Hey there InfiKnights, Hector here. Well, it's that time of the month where we celebrate the 50th year of our favorite wall crawling, web swinging wonder. With every month bring us a different peek into the world of Spiderman and this month is no different. For June, I've decided to take a look into Peter's most recent adventures.

 In the latest storyline, 'Ends of the Earth', Doctor Octopus has created a way to either intensify the sun's rays or strengthen the ozone layer. Octavius claims if the world follows his orders, he would intensify the ozone layer before he dies. But if they refuse, he'd kill them all. Spidey is, of course, suspicious and with good reason because he (Doctor Octopus) never planned on saving anyone. After a lot of insanity, including  Ock taking control of the Avengers, he is stopped.

I loved this book! I can find nothing wrong with it. The writing was great. I loved the story. Dan Slott is doing a great job, like he did with Spider-Island and this is no different. You see a new confidence in Peter he's really making a difference and he's really growing as a person as well as a hero. The art is also great, perfect balance of art and realism that I enjoy. Kudos to Stefano Caselli and Humberto Ramos.Their art perfectly compliments the story. With that said, I've decided that this storyline gets a rating I've only ever given once before. That's right folks the coveted Bruce Wayne Batman (5 out or 5). Great job Slott and crew. And till next time InfiKnights, Keep Slinging!

Countdown: Top 10 Avengers

Two weeks ago I posted my top 10 mutants showing the people I'm rooting for during the Avengers vs X-Men event. This time its the Avengers' turn. Let's get to it.

Captain America

     Without any contest remotely, Cap is my number one Avenger. I mean…. He’s Cap. He earned my respect from the pages of the Ultimates back in my high school days. I’m pro-American and Cap is as pro-America as it gets (before it becomes unhealthy or just racist). He is pure American everything that we should be. Everything that any self respecting and aspiring hero wants to be.  Then there is the shield. He’s surgical with that thing. Not to mention till this day he’s the only man I’ve seen literally walk up to the Hulk and just slug him one.

 Hulk

     If you would have seen me when I first saw the Incredible Hulk or maybe the time I saw the Hulk jump out of a nuclear explosion, you would know my appreciation for the Hulk is borderline orgasmic. That’s right I swoon folks, swoon when I see the Hulk go on his rampages and exert his power and the devastation it relinquishes upon the battlefield or an unsuspecting alien’s face. “Hulk Smash!” = Me happy.

Spider-Man

     Good ole Parker. My favorite superhero tied for first place with none other than Bruce Wayne himself. He’s got the jokes, he’s got the smarts and he had the girl… redhead that is. She’ll be back again don’t even worry about it Pete. We’ll be okay. We’ll be okay… Maybe you can hook up with Patty Spivot, she looks a lot like your recent ex, especially since she wants nothing to do with Flash.

Scarlet Witch

     

      Mmmm, Wanda. I said why I liked her in the Mutant countdown and interestingly enough she clutches the #4 spot again. I like her enough that she appears on both lists. Here’s an excerpt from the Mutant countdown on Wanda:

Often viewed as the favorite child of Magneto, Scarlet Witch is a top tier mutant not to be trifled with. Scarlet Witch manipulates probability fields and reality via her hexes. While she has been deemed unstable on more than one fair occasion, Wanda once firmly warmed a seat in the Avengers alongside her love, Vision. To put into perspective just how powerful Wanda is, I only need to mention House of M. Don’t know what that is? Google it or go buy it. Man I love women with power.

Valkyrie

      Valkyrie is pretty much what I’d go for if I were a superhero. Like Wanda she is a mesh of power and beauty. Besides riding shotgun and being the resident strongman for the first version of the Secret Avengers she has a very poetic and archaic way with words. And who doesn’t like a girl who can wield a big ass sword. Ring Ring. Hello? Valk, it’s for you. Cloud wants his buster sword back.

Iron Man

      Tony Stark would probably have been number three or four on this list before Civil War went down. While his side did come up on top, we all know he regrets the brunt of his actions. Downey and the Iron Man films saved Tony for me. Saved him from the abyss he was doomed for in my mind. That said, Its hard to hate the guy. It is like really hard. You have to try. Like discover a new element try.

               

Black Widow

She Hulk

      Banner’s cousin Jennifer Walters; experienced and great lawyer by day, big green, sexy, muscle pounding machine by choice. The beauty of She Hulk’s character is that she chooses to be She Hulk. She’s in perfect control of her transformation, thanks to the opposite effect it had on her as opposed to her cousin.

Wasp

     I’m not sure how to explain how or why I like the wasp. Is it that I like the Wasp or is it that I like what happened to the Wasp? Vague? I’ll explain. In the Ultimates, the Wasp was married to Hank Pym, Giant Man, who also happened to be abusive. One day after an argument he decided to spray her with some bug spray and have his mind controlled ant army ravage her. (Not like that…) They roughed her up a bit… a lot. Cap handled that nasty business. I’ve always thought that was an amazing writing choice. To put that in there. A hot head hero, who abuses his mutant wife, who can shrink down to the size of an insect and sprout wings, with bug spray. It was near genius.

Thor

     “By Odin’s beard!” That’s pretty much the extent of my appreciation. LMAO. Who says that? Thor, that’s who. Oh and Mjolnir. It doesn’t take much to please me folks.

WEB OF REFLECTION: BEN REILLY

Hello Clashers, your friendly neighborhood Clasher here. It’s that time of the month where us Clashers become crawlers swingers and slingers, of the wall and web variety that is. It’s time for another 50 year anniversary celebration of the spectacular, sensational, amazing and just recently fantastic, and avenging SPIDERMAN. Now last month  I took you all into the future for a look at how Miguel O’Hara did things as the wall crawler. Well this week we take a look at Ben Reilly and his reign as the web slinger. So follow me through New Yorkas we take a look how Peter’s clone filled in for him.

            Dr. Miles “The Jackal” Warrenbecame obsessed with Peter Parker and his girlfriend Gwen Stacy and decides to clone them….repeatedly. After finally perfecting a Peter clone he convinced him that Peter was in fact the clone. A huge fight ensues which ends with Peter throwing the clone into a smoke stack, leaving him for dead. The clone, who actually survived, climbs out and instead of trying to interfere with Peter decides to start a life of his own. After spending several years traveling the world under the assumed name Ben Reilly (Ben in memory of his late uncle and Reilly Aunt May’s maiden name) keeping tabs on Peter through Aunt May claiming to be a long lost cousin, decided to return to New York. Dying his hair so that people wouldn’t recognize him as Peter, Ben takes on odd jobs around the city and wall crawling as the Scarlet Spider. Eventually Ben and Peter meet and team up keeping up the charade of Ben being a distant cousin. The two became close, (makes sense they’re basically the same person) so when Peter decides he wants to call it quits, Ben, reluctantly at first, takes on the mantle. (Not like many other people could.)

             To feel like his own man, Ben designed a new costume, which was a revamp (and in my opinion an improvement) on the classic red and blue costume. At this time Ben and Peter have been misled to believe that Ben was the real Peter under the orders of Norman Osborn. Because of the different costume the Daily Bugle ran a story claiming New York Had a new Spiderman but later dropped the story when given evidence to the contrary. Only a select few who knew Peter as Spiderman knew the truth. During that time Ben went through quite a bit, like being bonded with the Carnage symbiote for a short time. 


          Ben found a steady job at a restaurant before it was burned down by the Hobgoblin who framed Ben for the arson had his bank account frozen and robbed him of everything. Peter and Mary Jane returned to New Yorkfrom Portland right before many of New York’s Heroes disappeared during the Onslaught incident. During this time Peter dawned his costume to help keep New Yorksafe under the watchful eye of two Spidermen. Eventually this also came to an end when Norman Osborn finally came out of hiding. Mockingly admitting that it was he who had misled them to break Peter’s spirits and revealing was in fact the clone. A battle between the three ensues ending with Ben being impaled by the goblin glider and disintegratingas ben dies Peter leaves him wit the final words "rest easy ....brother". 


    Ben Reilly brings new characters from his travels into the world of Spiderman, making it that much more interesting. When he wore the webs, there was a fresh twist on Spidey while retaining all that made the title what it was. Well, that's all for now. Until next time friends, keep clashing.

WEB OF LOVE: THE MANY APPLE'S IN PETER PARKER'S EYE

    Hey there Clashers! Love is in the air as we hit Valentine’s day and one guy who knows quite a bit on the subject is our friendly neighborhood Spiderman. Peter has built up quite the little black book over the past 50 years how about we check it out. Sorry guys but phone numbers are not available for these lovely ladies.

LIZ ALLEN

Let’s start off with the first girl he ever liked, Liz Allen. Although Peter never had  a relationship with Liz it wasn’t for lack of trying.  Peter was always into Liz but it wasn’t until he started to exhibit a newfound confidence after becoming Spidey that she took interest in the shy bookworm. Liz eventually agreed  to go on a date with Peter but he had to miss it because of his crime fighting duties. It upset them both and although they never tried again Liz remained interested in Peter until she eventually married his best friend, Harry Osborn.

BETTY BRANT
Wanting to pitch in to help with bills at home Peter starts taking pictures of himself as Spiderman to sell to the Daily Bugle. It’s there where Peter meets the lovely Betty Brant. Filling in for her sick mother as Jameson’s personal secretary. Betty was a quiet girl, impressed by the bravery of Peter in taking pictures of  Spiderman. But after her brother died in the crossfire of a fight between Spiderman and Dr. Octopus, Betty started to hate the web slinger and distances herself from Peter . She is currently in a relationship with Flash Thompson .

GWEN STACY
After graduating high school Peter went on to Empire University where he met Gwen Stacy. Although she at first was not interested in Peter she soon found herself wooed  by his charm and they fell in love. Due to his life as Spiderman their relationship was rocky to say the least and Gwen’s father  dying while during a fight between Spidey and Doc Ock did not help the situation . But through it all  they stuck it through until tragedy strikes…After recovering from slight amnesia and remembering that Peter is Spidey Norman Osborn kidnaps Gwen and  takes her to the Brooklyn Bridge. She’s pushed off and when Spidey shoots a webline to save her the sudden jerk snaps her neck.

DEBORAH WHITMAN
After  losing  Gwen, Peter was distraught but he eventually started to date again. The shy Deborah Whitman  was very interested in Peter but Pete wasn’t really into her. Deborah, a schizophrenic soon became obsessed with  the possibility that Peter was Spiderman. To save her sanity Peter confessed to her but she refused to believe his confession. She then ran off with an old flame Biff Rifkin.

FELICIA HARDY

After discovering her fathers true origin as a famous cat burglar, Felicia  Hardy decided to follow in his footsteps. Becoming the Black Cat she perfected the art of cat burglary.after Spiderman failed repeatedly at catching the beautiful thief  she started to fall for the webslinger. In order to win his heart she turned over a new leaf becoming his partner in crime fighting and love. Feeling she could help her lover better with powers she acquired bad luck powers. Only problem was those close to her including Peter fell victim to her powers. Pete enlisted the help of Dr. Strange to remove the powers behind her back; getting her seriously hurt. Feeling betrayed, Felicia ended it with Peter.

MARY JANE WATSON
Although  May Parker and her friend  Anna Watson have tried to set Peter with Anna’s niece  Mary Jane since they were 14, it took until they were in college before they actually dated. But their romance ended when Peter fell for Gwen so MJ dated Harry Osborn until  Harry became addicted to drugs. After Gwen’s death MJ comforted Peter  and they ended up together. Although she knew about Peter’s double life, she highly disapproved  of it interfering in their relationship but through all the ups and  downs the two truly loved each other and were eventually married and things remained just as hectic if not worse. After Peter reveals his identity to the world things get real bad and to fix things they gave up their marriage to Mephisto. They remained good friends and, to me, it seems they could get back together.

SARAH RUSHMAN
At one point Mary Jane goes missing, believing her dead, Peter starts dating Sarah Rushman, who turned out to be Marrow of the X-men. Upon Mary Jane’s return their romance ended.

MS. MARVEL/CAROL DAVERS
Spiderman has worked with Ms Marvel on many an occasion,  at one point Spidey requested a date in return for his help and she agreed. The date went horribly but after being possessed by the Venom symbiote for a bit it was revealed that Ms. Marvel was also attracted to Peter as well. Although they never pursued a relationship the two remained close friends.

MICHELE GONZALES
Michele Gonzales is the sister of Vin Gonzalez a cop who roomed with Peter for sometime. When Vin went to prison for trying to frame Spidey as a serial killer, Michele moved in with Peter. They never really got along. She grudgingly agreed to accompany Peter to Aunt May’s wedding. Peter gets nervous due to Mary Jane’s presence and gets extremely drunk and ends up in bed with Michele. The next morning he remembered nothing so in her rage she tried to kick him out. But the Peter she attempted to kick out was in fact  the Chameleon who seduced her into letting Peter stay. Upon Vin’s release, Michele returned to Chicago.

CARLIE COOPER
Harry Osborne was dating the lovely Lily Hollister until she was revealed as Menace and to be sleeping with his father. Her best friend, NYPD CSU officer Carlie Cooper, alienated her but continued her friendship with Harry and Peter. At a going away party for Harry, Peter proposed a relationship with Carlie who accepted. Soon, she too was upset about  Peter’s constant disappearances, as were his girlfriends before her. So upset, in fact, that she almost got a goblin tattoo to piss him off. Instead, she got a Spidey tattoo which Peter was thrilled with. When Peter was way too in tune with his spider powers during Spider-Island, Carlie deduced he was the real Spiderman and left him for his dishonesty.
